Brantford & County of Brant

Located on the Grand River in Southwestern Ontario, Brantford and County of Brant are famous for a couple of Canadian “Greats.” Home of Alexander Graham Bell, Brantford is known as “Telephone City.” In fact, the first call was placed in 1874 from Brantford, Ontario to Paris, Ontario. Brantford is also home to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre where visitors can admire a twelve-foot sculpture of “The Great One.” The Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant offers self-guided tours of galleries with both contemporary and find art exhibitions and a permanent collection of more than 600 works. For the outdoor enthusiasts, with trails from Hamilton, Simcoe and Cambridge all joining up in Brantford, the “Hub of Ontario Trials” is not to be missed.
